My Post-Pandemic (Mini) Bucket List

It's crazy to think that we've had the COVID-19 pandemic for more than a year now. So many things have changed and opportunities lost in the past year alone, and personally, I can't wait until this little taste of hell on earth is over.

Just the other weekend, I was in a state of reflection and the thought that 'one day, this will all be over' came to mind, along with a bunch of things I wanted to do as soon as the world was open again.

Travel anywhere outside the country.

I love traveling. Something about experiencing and seeing new places makes it so therapeutic. Right now, I'd give up most luxuries just to travel out of the country again.

It saddens me that the last time I traveled out of the country was November 2019 (Singapore). I find myself looking through the footage I filmed more often than I should and it's really pissing me off how much this pandemic has changed life so much. It just sucks for everyone.
Read about my Singapore trip!
When the world opens again, I'd love to travel to Japan or go back to Australia for a much needed 'therapy' trip. Japan was next on my list after Singapore, so I really want to get back on a plane once everything's back to normal (or becomes as normal as it can be).

Always go out in style.

I've always been insecure about my body. I make sure to cover up as much as possible (even when it's sweltering hot) and avoid wearing shorts, dresses, or mini skirts. I totally hated showing skin because 'skin' wouldn't be the first thing people would see. So I usually opt for a t-shirt and jeans to blend in with the crowd.

For some reason, when the pandemic started, I decided to not care anymore. It may have been the realization that things won't ever be as normal as before or the fact that I was starting to mature in my thinking, but whatever the reason, I just started wearing dresses out. That first time opened all the doors for me. (I now own more dresses than shirts.)

My goal to always be fashionable when going out extends beyond the pandemic. I want to leave an impression on people I pass by or meet and leave them thinking, "Hey, that girl was actually pretty fashionable!" Dressing how I want has also given me so much more confidence, and my confidence is my own brand of style.

Hang out with friends.

Hanging out used to be "drinking sessions" for me, but when this all blows over, I want to experience new things with friends and have more meaningful interactions with them. Instead of hard drinks, maybe we could have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine while talking about life.

It would be wonderful to go on a trip with my close friends and share memories together while we're all still unmarried, with little to no commitment to anything or anyone. Time is something you can never get back and it'll be far more valuable to share life with people who mean a lot to you. Little trips also forge stronger friendships.

Do/Attend more workshops.

I've been on both the giving and receiving ends when it comes to workshops and there's nothing more satisfying than seeing people learn from you or seeing someone you look up to share their expertise.

If given the chance to hold more workshops in the future, I'll be sure to grab at each opportunity. I crave more interaction with different people and learning about their own stories on career and life. I feel like it's important to immerse yourself in as many cultures and kinds of people as possible to be more sensitive and understanding towards others.

I also love macarons, croissants and other light, fluffy pastries, so I want to start learning how to make them at home. Meals like Adobo and Sinigang also seem so complicated to do but I want to learn to cook proper dishes as well! I know how to cook and fry stuff but there's so much more I need to get a grip on!

Go ghost hunting.

Everyone I know is pretty familiar with how much of a horror addict I am. Name any horror film and I can guarantee you I've already seen it! I'm especially a fan of gore and psychological horror, to be specific. Now, because I never get scared by any horror films anymore, I want to dive deeper into this dark, mysterious world.

I've been looking up haunted places in my city and found two places, an abandoned hospital and an abandoned home. I'm hoping that when the pandemic's over, I can grab a camera or two and explore these two spots. I really want to spook myself silly and experience something spine-chilling again. These movies no longer do it for me, man.

When the world opens, I might even get to explore places outside my city! Then I'd have videos to upload to my Youtube channel. It's become inactive since early this year. Boo.

Attend a concert.

It's been so long since I attended a real-life, physical concert! I miss the energy! It's also a pretty great way to meet new people and form friendships! What better way to bond than listening to your favorite artist and rocking with them?

If Ariana Grande or Tori Kelly ever come to the Philippines again, I will make sure to attend their concert! Those are two artists I stan through and through. I know all their songs and I fangirl over how talented they are. I seriously can't get over them.

So yes, I plan on attending a concert when the world reopens.

So that was my mini bucket list for after the pandemic! I might've missed a few but these are at the top of my list for sure. How about you? How do you plan to spend your first months when the world goes back to "normal"? Do you have a bucket list of your own? I'd love to read them!

'Til the next post!

Ciao, bellas!
