Last year flew by too fast and ended too soon, but it’s all about moving forward and getting in those first few steps into the year (practically scared out of my wits, tbh). (Also, I DID promise a giveaway during the end of 2017, but I just couldn't get the items ready quick enough given the event and deadlines I had. Perhaps Valentine's Day?)
Now I like control over certain aspects of my life, and to do that, I try to maintain a planner all year round. Last 2017, I made use of around 3 planners: the DYL planner I used as a BuJo for quick logs before bed, The ABC Journal I used for journaling and doodling, the Starbucks one for work/blog planning.
It took a LOT of my time during the night to maintain these three planners, and upon the end of 2017, I found myself using just one - the DYL vertical planner. It was easy, had lots of room for writing down the day's madness, and it was really easy to incorporate into my day. I didn't have to journal or decorate it too much just so I felt satisfied with the day's log.
THIS YEAR, I'LL BE USING FOUR PLANNERS.
Yep. Apparently, I haven't learned from the past and have decided to get four planners to organize my life - again. If I don't get my life straight this year, I am SCREWED.
1. The Faith Bible Planner (For: Devotions/Prayers)
This was a totally necessary purchase. I saw their 2017 journals and immediately had a huge on crush on the designs. Since I already had three planners, getting one during February didn't exactly sound logical. This year, it was one of the first planners I pre-ordered (mid-November, I think). I got it for only Php1,500 with free shipping, since it was still during their promo period. Quite a steal.
One other reason I felt inclined to get this planner is because I've slacked off from my devotions and prayer times for SO long, it's more than mildly embarrassing. I mean, I can't even describe how guilty I feel right now, which is why I went and got this planner. One look at it and I'll be reminded.

2. The Starbucks 2018 Planner (For: Work)
You know what I did with my Starbucks planner last year? Nothing. Yeah, because I had no idea what to do with it. This year though, I'll be using it as a work planner, which means it'll probably be my most used notebook for 2018. I love that the leather sleeve can be used on other similar-sized notebooks for when I'm done with the year.
The paper quality sadly hasn't improved, since I was hoping they'd get thicker paper this year. Still looks very chic and minimal though. I wanted to get the planner as quickly as I could, so I employed the help of my workmates - nay, begged them - to let me buy their drinks over three Fridays. After seeing the Starbucks planners in Korea and Singapore though, I feel like we got the least attractive design, haha. (But yay for the leatherette cover.)
3. The DYL Planner (For: Personal/Blog)
Last year, this was the planner that fitted me best given my schedule, and I'm wondering if that'll be the case this year too. Also, since they have features that suit personal/blog planning (with income notes, goals, etc.), I'll be using it again as a BuJo for scheduling posts, drinking sessions with friends, and those art fair deadlines.
Since deciding to get the DYL planner last year, I've grown very used to the layout, the features, and the space they've given for writing each day. This was why I needed it again for 2018, to help me sort my life for the second time. From the 2017 Back to Basics planner, I've decided to try the undated, limitless planner over the incredibly cute rose-gold and rainbow-spring ones. Upon opening, I knew I made the right choice.

4. The 365 Journal (For: Art Spits)
Finally, the fourth planner is one similar to the ABC Journal, but a little bigger and with plain paper. I used to see this online a lot mid-2017, so when I came across it during the last week of November, I got one (from SM Department Store). I thought it would be thick enough for watercolors, but it seems like the pages will be good for other things instead. We'll figure something out.
I'm thinking of doing daily lettering challenges here, but come February, this could just be an art dump book. I'm anticipating a very busy work schedule for 2018, that's why I feel the need to not stick to one theme/style all year round. Not sure how much I bought this for, but I think it's between Php300 to Php400.
So there you have it, four journals to play with this 2018. (At the back of my mind, I am aware this is excessive and that I could've just settled for one to plan everything, but I can't explain the intensity I feel when I come across a planner I really like. Hence, I need to justify my purchases.)
Crossing my fingers that I'll be able to stick with all of them this year.
